Dee Atkinson & Harrison were delighted to be invited to auction the residual contents of a highly desirable property recently purchased by old friends of the firm in the picturesque village of Sutton on the Forest outside of York.

The house had been used to showcase Kelly Hoppen's furniture creations and were included in the purchase. Our clients have more classical tastes, so some pieces will be included in the Home Furnishings auction .

Highlights include a desk, a consul table, Union Jack trunks and Cube tables.

Kelly began her career at 16 when she was given the opportunity to design a family friend's kitchen. She has designed for a number of celebrities, including David and Victoria Beckham; and Martin Shaw. Kelly is the author of eight design books to date and was a Dragon on Dragon Den between 2013 and 2015. In 2014 the Daily Telegraph ranked her as the second most influential female interior designer in Britain.

Kelly uses a neutral colour palette such as taupe and beige. She has said of her design philosophy, "My philosophy has always remained the same. It's about creating calm balanced environments based on Eastern cultures, i.e. order and creation of harmony. How people feel in a space is as important as the way it looks; one can't be without the other to succeed.
