Our first Classic Car, Motorcycle & Automobilia auction was held in July 2016 after we were honoured with instructions from Steve Fairburn of Skidby to sell the entire contents of his private museum. The success of this auction and the life long personal interest and drive of our saleroom manager and valuer Andrew Spicer, resulted in two further auctions within eight months. Three Classic Car & Motorcycle auctions are now part of our annual calendar and our reputation for achieving excellent prices continues to grow.
Andrew, when he worked for Bonhams, sourced many interesting vehicles including a collection of cars that realised just over £5 million. He was also the auctioneer for automoblia at the companies flagship motorcycle auctions at Stafford and has taken charity auctions at the TT Riders association annual dinner at the Birmingham motorcycle Museum.
In 2017 we became the leading classic motorcycle auctioneer in the North of England, with over £250,000 of bikes sold. In March we sold the 1931 Matchless Silver Hawk for a North of England record of £48,160, beating the one set by Bonhams at Harrogate when in Nov 2011 they sold a Vincent Black Shadow for £33,925. In July a World Record, with a limited edition 2014 Norton Domiracer selling at £37,420, beating RM/Sothebys sale at Lake Como, that only realised €26,910 or £24,059. Finally, in November Ben Nobles' 1960 Manx Norton was bought by the British Motorcycle Charitable Trust for £31,360 on behalf of the Isle of Man Museum.
We offer very competitive rates of commission and each vehicle is fully researched and promoted with articles in International magazines and local press.
If you are thinking of the sale of a Classic Motorcycle, Car or Automobilia then please contact Andrew to discuss what we can do for you.
